Arusha National Park or Mommella is only the nearby national park to Arusha city, northern Tanzania’s safari capital city. It’s a small park, lies on the slopes of the spectacular Meru Volcano, one of the high volcano with an altitude of 4566 m.
This park offers the opportunity to explore a fascinating diversity of habitats. The Arusha and Tarangire National Parks are the only parks in Northern Tanzania where you may experience a walking safari accompanied with Armed Park Ranger each group. You will also have some scenic moments from a couple of view points along the rim of the Ngurdoto Crater to the puzzling pattern of the Momella Lakes.
There is amazing nature walk in this park with a ranger you may extend it to a light trekking of Mt Meru. You will walk in the tropical forest and watch animals outside the car. The most amazing thing is that you will be able to walk up to the crater of Meru (the second highest peak of Tanzania and the fifth highest peak of Africa) which is located right in the park. This is a fantastic experience, worth adding to your Tanzanian adventures!
After the nature walking safari, back to your safari vehicle for the game drive for the furthest amazing part of the park In this park the animals such as giraffe, buffalo, zebra, warthog, the black-and-white colobus monkey, flamingos and many more can be seen.
